- CEMEX Building Award has identified the best construction projects in different categories in Mexico and around the world for 23 years
- The “Lorenzo H. Zambrano” Lifetime Achievement Award and the “Architect Marcelo Zambrano” scholarship were also awarded
- More than 700 projects participated this year
CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) announced the winners of the XXIII Edition of the CEMEX Building Award, recognizing buildings that stand out for their constructive, conceptual, technical, and aesthetic solutions.
On this edition, the CEMEX Building Award registration recorded 500 domestic buildings and 214 constructed in Bosnia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Guatemala, Mexico, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Panama, Poland, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, Thailand and United Kingdom.
The jury that evaluated all works consisted of 17 specialists from six different countries. Winning entries of the contest were selected by the new conceptual, technical, and aesthetic solutions applied in their design, construction or use.
The CEMEX Building Award selects the best buildings constructed in different countries, recognizing the most outstanding project in each of three categories, along with two special prizes.
In the edition of the event that is exclusive for projects Mexican, awards were given in nine categories, as well as four special prizes.

Zambrano Lifetime Achievement Award” was given to David Serur, recognized for his outstanding career of more than 40 years in the construction industry and his significant contribution to the Mexican engineering. The “Architect Marcelo Zambrano” Scholarship, which supports young Mexican architects in their postgraduate studies, was awarded to Javier Garciadiego Ruiz, who will enroll in the Master or Urban Planning (Housing and Economic Development) in the NYU Wagner School, New York University.
