CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) announced today that its subsidiary CEMEX Latam Holdings (“CLH”) (BVC: CLH) participated in the construction of the new “Dennis Martinez” National Baseball Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua. For this project—which is expected to serve as a benchmark for baseball stadiums across Central America and the Caribbean—CEMEX will supply 18,000 cubic meters of conventional and high-performance concretes.
With a construction area of approximately 45,000 square meters, plus parking, the new stadium will seat approximately 15,000 spectators under its roof, with the possibility to host an additional 5,000 people through future expansions. Since early 2016, CEMEX contributed to the stadium’s construction through a concrete plant installed near the worksite, from which the company provided material and logistical support.
“This type of project exemplifies CEMEX’s versatility. From housing to large-scale infrastructure, we are able to deliver tailor-made solutions that best suit our customers’ needs,” said Yuri De Los Santos, Director of CEMEX Nicaragua. “We are proud to participate in such iconic projects as the new “Dennis Martinez” National Baseball Stadium, which will bolster the love for this sport in Nicaragua.”
